Amman opens a smoking cessation clinic and physical activity area in King Abdullah II park
10 October 2024, Amman, Jordan – Under the patronage the Mayor of Amman Dr Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, the Greater Amman Municipality, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Jordan, inaugurated a smoking cessation clinic and a dedicated walking track and outdoor gym specially designed to encourage physical activity among women in King Abdullah II Park. Located in the Al-Muqablin area of the city, the park attracts more than 2 million visitors a year.

Jordan joins the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines
24 September 2024, Amman, Jordan – In a signing ceremony today, the Government of Jordan, represented by the Ministry of Health (MoH), and World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Jordan has become the first Member State in the Eastern Mediterranean Region to join the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines.
